ABOUT:
In 2010 Stephen began producing during his freshman year of college and in 2012 as a member of the Bay Area duo Ghostcat he received the Golden Tripod Award for best soundtrack at the International Campus Movie Festival. He returned to the Bay Area in 2013 with a B.A. in Music from UC Riverside and spent time exploring a number of other aspects of the music industry including artist management and AV production.
Several years later in 2015 Acumen Productions began as a platform for releasing projects and collaborations while also offering teaching services and educational outreach in music.
In 2019 Stephen received his AVID Pro Tools User and Operator certifications expanding the scope of services offered into recording and mix engineering with several new projects releasing in early 2020

“I started taking lessons with Stephen about 8 months ago. As an adult I was a bit worried since most teachers are geared towards younger people. I was wrong! Stephen turned out to be the best teacher I have ever had. He is so patient and though he is much younger then I am, he knows all the songs I want to learn, many from the 70s...
But most important, my guitar playing has improved more in the past 8 months then it had in the past 5 years! I have grown as a musician and even though i would practice before having Stephen, i realize now that I was not getting any better... now I am! And I love playing again.
I would highly recommend Stephen to anyone who wants to learn guitar or who is rusty and needs some help getting back on track. He is always on time, polite, very smart and knowledgeable about not only music but the world... and best of all has never missed a lesson!
